West African Rhythm Project

Ensemble performance

The West African Rhythm Project Ensemble booms onto the stage with live drums, traditional dancing,

and audience participation songs. Performing traditional pieces from countries such as Guinea, Ghana, and Mali, the audience is sure to get moving and singing.

Mike Rinker leads the group and recalls the historical and modern uses of each piece of music. Audiences will learn how drumming, dancing, and singing are an intregral part of everyday life for people in West African villages as well as cities.

Ensemble performances can be combined with INTERACTIVE CLINICS to create a unique hands-on learning experience for all ages. Book the West African Rhythm Project today for your next party, school event, or cultural festival. Below is a video of the West African Rhythm Project performing a welcoming piece from Guinea called Fanga.
