Dan Cheney is the West African Rhythm Project's resident drum builder and repairman and is also an ensemble member. Dan has been a student of the djembe for the last 10 years.  His teachers include Atsu Dagadu, Patrick Dilley and Dingiswayu Juma in Africa, and Mohamed Kalifa Camara, Abdoulaye Sylla, Mamady Keita and Namory Keita here in USA.

The West African Rhythm Project Ensemble brings a big sound, lots of energy, and tons of fun to its performances and interactive clinics. We are prepared to play, dance, and bring a whole truck load of drums so everyone can join in playing, singing, and dancing with us.
